Abstract: This checklist was started from the maps in Birds of Somalia by J.S. Ash and J.E. Miskell (1998). Some of the names have been changed to reflect updates shown in Wikipedia. Additional species have since been added, based on Mills, M.S.L. & C. Cohen (2015) Additional bird species in Somaliland. Scopus 34: 31–39, January 2015. On 22 July 2024, a wikipedia listing for birds of Somaliland was added, together with the URL of the source. The listing was not uploaded as a separate checklist.
