American Museum of Natural History Collections from Somaliland

The American Museum of Natural History is located in New York City. This collection presents records of specimens collected from Somaliland by teams led by a zoologist from AMNH. The primary specimens will be located in AMNH; if duplicates are available, the first set will be donated to the source country, if that country has the ability to house them safely. Currently, Somaliland is unable to house specimens of animals other than insects. Making records of collections deposited elsewhere available here will provide easier access to information about Somaliland's species and, it is hoped, encourage Somalilanders to learn more about the country's biodiversity. Catalogue numbers will be added when they are available.
