Description: Little swifts (Apus affinis) are, as their name suggests, smaller than other swifts, having a wingspan of about 33 cm whereas the wingspand of the Common swift is 42 cm. Most of their plumage is black but they white throats and white patch over on their rump that extends onto their flanks. The tail is short and the tail feathers round-tipped. Their flight is fluttering. Like other swifts they have very short legs.
Diet: Little swifts live on insects they catch in their beaks.
Nests: Little swifts nest in holes vertical rock faces and walls of buildings. They return to the same site, year after year, rebuilding as needed.
